All I Wanted To Do Tonight Was...

paint my nails. Too much to ask? Apparantly it is. Amazingly enought the boys cooperated by going to bed quickly and easily. A soon as I headed down the stairs though I realized my dinner was still on the stove cooking. So, had to eat that and finish cleaning up those dinner dishes. Then I noticed I had some straggling baking dishes that needed to be cleaned as well. Did the messy kitchen trolls come for a visit while I was gone or what? Finally the kitchen was somewhat conquered...

...but then I remembered that my flowers needed watering. It's been a few days and a sweet 4 year old girl was kind enough to point out to me today that my plants were all dying. Why? she asked. If she noticed...well enough said. Then I also remembered that it was time to feed them as well. Dang it these pots better come back to life and look like Eden soon!

While outside and freezing my tail off (ummm, did I skip a few months? I swear it's still August and not November!), I see all the cars and scooters in the garage, where the truck should be parked. At least they made it in the garage, right? I suppose, but since Dave should be coming home tonight, I figure I should make some space for him. Let him know he's still welcome.

An hour and a half later I feel the pressing need to update my blog. Diehard Pink Platter readers are waiting anxiously for another post. They're craving zucchini, I know it! Better do it. It'll just be a minute. And...I'm still here. What does it mean when you wonder what's wrong with yourself all the time because of all the stupid things you do? Time to go to bed!

Things never seem to stop do they? Since we have only gotten about three inches of rain in last year (instead of the normal 20+) I have to constantly water the back yard, then front (no, there is no sprinller system), then flowers and foundation, then mow the weeds (since the grass refuses to grow) plus everything else going on. Oh, well, that's the joy of life.

ha ha, great writing Kelly. you can always get on those kicks where you keep seeing things that need to be done, you just have to stop yourself. its hard though.

You are too good. I say - put the kids to bed and paint your nails before even looking into your kitchen sink! Dishes can be done tomorrow but nails have to be painted! Oh and after you are done with your nails, don't do the dishes anyway, because you don't want to ruin your nails, right? So, that way not only will you feel prettier with your shiny nails, you will also have no housework to worry about! (Now I am hoping that Dave doesn't come back to read my comment, since he already posted his...)
