August In My Front Yard

I really wasn't sure about my front flower bed. I rearranged a lot, took out a lot, and added a lot. Then I threw in seeds to see what would happen. (can you tell I still have no clue when it comes to landscaping?) The August result is a happy accident. Everything grew in well, and those zinnia seeds turned out to be the best surprise! Those flowers make me grin for ear to ear. Question: although I like this, I'd like feedback. Can you see any way that you'd improve my bed? Do you even like it? Lay it on me-I can handle your opinion, good bad or ugly. That's why I'm asking.

ZInnias are my FAV flower! My mom grew them when we were little and it took me till this year to figure out that they were! (my mom could never remember what I was talking about!) Next year my yard will me COVERED with them! Love it-your yard looks great!

I love all the flowers. What I have seen from the professionals is to have short plants/flowers in the front and larger/taller plants in the back to give the feeling of depth. Also, what I think looks cool, is to choose a color theme (say white and red) and plant only flowers that follow that type. Don't forget to mix plant shapes like bushy type flowers with tall slender (like an Iris) to give more interest even when they are not in bloom.
