Fabric-palooza

We all know that I have a slight addiction to textiles. I found another great fabric store here to feed my frenzy! I posted about one that I liked a while back, and I still really like that one. Great fabrics, great deals. But this one is definitely a notch up. Much wider selection and not just discount. Really delicious fabrics that make my fingers tingle and my lips curve with excitement. They have a great sale going on, and I was able to get some yummy new finds for my home-super cheap. I found the exact velvet I had my eyes scouring for for years to recover my antique sofa in, for $5/yard! For those of you that that means little to, I would have expected to pay $28-$40/yard retail. And I needed 12 yards. They had exactly 12 yards left. I think I saw the clouds parting and stars and sparkle dust falling over my head.
At their other store (yes I went to both stores, multiple times) I found some really scrumptious remnants. I found a particularly lovely and irresistable one for my kitchen. It's a Schumacher gray and white linen. Schumacher is generally very expensive and nice fabric. I think the lady said that this particular one was $100-$150/yard. I got it for $7!! Besides the fact that it's a great deal, I am in love with the fabric. It's a really thick, high quality linen that feels like butter in my hands. I've mentioned that my kitchen window valances really bug me. I honestly can't stand them. They're way too cute, and red. So I can't wait to figure out what I am going to do to change it. I also got a coordinating gray solid to redo the chair seats in. Yes, again. Ya!

Oh, and the store is called Design Company Fabrics. And for you out-of-towners, you can even shop their fabrics online. :) I'll let you know when a project gets completed.

You mean to tell me that you were in Salt Lake, visiting a fabric store no less, and didn't call me? Next time you feel like heading this direction, you can repent, call me, and take me with you! :) There is a little place I'd like to visit downtown that I think you will LOVE...it is an architectural salvage yard...all kinds of delicious treasure to be found. We should make it a date and go both places!

Your sofa is going to be so lovely in that fabric. Your project plans give me hope that energy DOES come back.

Thanks for the link!
