Another check off my list! Make that two! I finally framed and uhng some prints for my kitchen. And I made the valances for my windows and hung them too. The valances were ridiculously easy to make. Almost no sewing involved, just 3 straight lines on each, and my lines were far from straight. I highly recommend this style for a super simple window treatment to make. Each took me about 30 minutes total, and I took my time. As Dave says, they are soooo girly. Yes, they are. Girlier than I planned, but I'm ok with that. ;)
Oh, and cheap, too. They're stapled to a board and I used 1 1/2" ribbon for the ties. The fabric was leftover from my chairs, 99 cents/yard years ago. Each valance cost me around $7 to make.
The prints are covers from old Cook's Illustrated magazines, a great read by the way. Thanks Mom for the subscription and thanks Rachael for filling in the blanks (borrowed copies).
(Sorry for the bad lighting/photography, maybe I'll re-post later. Oh, and my chandelier looks luch more at home now as well.)

ohhh la la! I love it! I need your help in ideas for my living room window coverings!!
Beautiful! How did you make those bows so perfect?
looks fabulous (of course)!
did you paint your chandelier black? Wasn't it red?
Yes, it's still red - bad lighting...you cna actually see the pics better if you view this in a dark room. Ya, the room's dark right now :)
It looks fantastic!!!
Wow! You've been busy! Nesting??!!
I love it Kelly. you are so creative. I love the curtains, and the magazines framed. It all looks fantastic.
I love those window coverings! I'll have to get started on making some windown coverings, where do you get your fabric?
Ikea usually has some really fun fabrics, but it's cheap quality if that matters. For better fabrics I like Home Fabrics, there's one in Orem by Univ. mall :) Really fantastic prices too. Calico Corners has nice fabrics to choose from too but is more pricey. Go get sewing! If you have great ideas for window treatments I'd love to hear :)
