House Tour

I am so excited to show you our new house!! The big move is this Saturday - can't wait. The thing I love best about this house is that it is always bright and happy feeling, no matter what time of day (even though you can't tell in the pics).
Welcome! This is the entry - I think it needs a star light:) Down stairs goes to Family Room, up to Bedrooms, to the right goes to LR/Kitchen/Dining.

Living room - to the left is the front door, behind me the kitchen.
View of LR from entry.
Bird's eye of kitchen/dining are. LR is to the left. Yes, the counters have to go! (and valances)
Family room from teh dining. In teh FR the entry and garage are to the right, door to backyard to the left, and a bedroom and bath/laundry straight ahead in the back.
Basement. Stairs to the right and a cold storage room. Bedroom straight ahead.
Basement view from bedroom. That's the cold storage door (you can only see the knob) and the stairs are directly across from it.
All the bedrooms are nothing fancy, as well as baths, so I'm not posting those.
And of course, the yard!!! Aaah, a clean slate:)

Great house with a lush green yard! Your kitchen cabinets and countertops look like mine...I'm sorry! But I know you'll make it all look fabulous and I hope you're able to change your counters before we'll change ours!

Oh, here's a stupid question - What's cold storage?

I can't wait to see your creativity in action- the whole house is a perfect blank slate for your talents. What a great house! Do you plan to do the counters right away? I can imagine Easton is ready to break in that back yard.

PS I was also wondering what cold storage is?

Cold storage is a Utah thing. It's actually, nice, though. It's a room that's cemeneted in(walls)(I think -that's how it looks at least) for food storage. Because it's cement it stays cooler - hence storing food longer.

We are going to take our time witht teh counters. I want nothing more than to change the LR/K to wood floors, put in white cabintets, real butcher block counters(not laminate!) and a granite island. We'll see. You never know, but I don't see this being our really long term house and teh cabinets are already upgraded from what most people have, so even though I don't like them I am having a ahrd time justifying spending teh money to change it. As for the counters, though, I need to make sure I won't change the cabinets, and then decide what I really want and would be smartest for resale. The baths desperately need to be changed too, but I'll do it all at once.

Counters being the only MUST change I can afford to do more:)
