The 'V' Word

Even though I'm not even looking at my blog recently, it's bugging me to no end knowing that the last post and first thing you see when entering my blog is Easton's allergic scare. So, for almost no other reason, I am taking precious nap time on a lovely rainy day to post something.

It's for this reason that you get to hear a full discourse on vomit. That's a horrid word isn't it? Vomit. Ick.

Late Saturday night we returned home from a road trip to Cedar City. After successfully transferring kids from car seat to bed and unloading the car, and crashing into our own beds., we are awakened by Easton. Details are unimportant, but he had thrown up all over his bed. Hey, I was grateful, at 3 am, that it was contained on his bed and not in the carpet. Funny the things you appreciate after having kids. So, with 3 hours of sleep under my belt I morphed into nurse mode for the next 30 hours.

I do have to be honest, though. There's something I love. Something very sweet and precious about a sick little child who needs to be cuddled and rocked and patted on the back. It's the silver lining in the middle of a big storm. We got lots of that in.

And today we're back full swing into normalcy. Crazy good fun. And did you catch that it's a rainy day? Full on thunder and lighting and heavy rain. Dreamy. Too bad I feel like I've gained 20 lbs from our recent trips and can't indulge in a little rainy day comfort food. Blogs, pedicures, and chasing each other around the house will have to do.

Back to vomit. Gross, isn't it? And the smell. I feel like I'm breathing in the germs when trying to clean it out of bedding, clothes, toes, carpet, furniture, the car...And how do you get it all out? I mean really get it out? This has begun a new quest for me. To find a hand held carpet cleaner for the next vomit fest or potty training session. Anyone have one that you love or hate? If so I'd love to hear about it. So in case I have been feeling like I need another project, researching one is now on the list. Before Luke gets sick! (so far so good-I'm keeping teh fingers crossed) So far I'm looking at the Bissel "Little Green" and Dirt Devil "Spot Scrubber." They sure look cute.

My brother has the green one in the picture. I have borrowed it a few time and we both really like it. Fingers crossed that the rest of you don't get it.

I hear Sargent Steam is the best-no cleaners just hot steam that will kill everything. So if you have an extra $2000 to get one, let me know so I can borrow it!

The little green machine is great. We use it at work to clean mattresses and upholstery. I have borrowed and used it to clean the carpet and the sofa and loveseat. It works great. The joy of having a young family, illness. Good thing you enjoy the nurse qualities. I bet he really enjoys it.
