We started a week with a visit to our home from SIL Crystal and cousins Glade, Abbie, and River. Crystal was a tough and brave woman to drive up here with a 12, 10, and 1 year old in tow by herself. I'm sooo glad she did though. We had lots of fun and it was nice to stay up with another girl until 2 am talking, sometimes about nothing.
We went shopping at the outlets in Park City, which was great. The kids were able to get some great clothes for school while Easton lost his beloved 'blue shoes' (Croc knockoffs) and I found an adorable little outfit for the baby to come home in. Besides and outing to Ikea I, sadly, don't remember what else we did. But it was fun. Easton loved it, no surprise there.
Friday Easton and I drove down to my MIL's. We arrived around 4 pm. Th drive wasn't bad and Easton was tickled to chase the baby chicks around the yard. Glade and Abbie were great. They would catch the chicks and then let Easton hold them, but then he'd let 'em go sending Glade and Abbie on the chase all over again. They all had fun playing at the park that evening too.
Gay, River, Glade, Abbie, Jordan, Easton and Gaylynn at the parade.
Saturday we went to the 24th celebration in Tropic. I love their small town celebrations. They had a great parade. It was little (maybe, 10 minutes long) but they had fantastic floats, fire trucks, a clown, and lots of candy! Perfect for a 2 year old's attention span.
They then had a carnival with blow-up activites and games like fishing and ring toss and races. There was also a bake sale and bbq lunch with hot dogs, hamburgers, and the southern utah famous navajo tacos. Yum!
Unfortunately, Easton and I only made it until noon. He was so cranky and clingy. Fussing and wanting me to hold him. I thought he was just tired so I decided to just go home early. I didn't have the patience to last. We drove a while and he screamed hysterically until he finally fell asleep. When we stopped for gas about a half hour later he woke up and was hysterical all over again. I stopped and bought some ibuprofen and shoved it down his throat. 20 mintues later he was clam and talking again. Poor guy was getting 3 molars. It must hurt bad cause I have never seen him like that, ever.
It was fun while it lasted and we made it the next day until Dave came home. And boy was Easton excited to see his dad! It was so sweet. And now we have lots more fish to enjoy.
