My little sis is getting married in 2 weeks! WoW! So exciting. Which also means, I'll be flying alone with Easton next to the other holiday travelers. (Dave is coming after, and leaving before us. I'm lucky not to work.) I'm a little nervous. Alone in a very confined space with a 2 year old on my lap for 3-plus hours. So I'm racking my brain trying to think of a hundred 10 minute activities to pack along.
Designmom found a great site with all kinds of fantastic ideas for the car, plane and even the nitty gritty ticket buying. Most of the ideas were for older kids, though. Then I found this site specific to babies and toddlers. If you have any other great ideas let me know. In the mean time, I'll be hoarding sticker books, light up toys and Elmo DVD's.

Oh I have done many of these trips with kids alone. It isn't fun. My kids like the colorwonder stuff. I pack stuff that are "new" so they are excited about it.
Lift the flap books are great- especially the sturdy board books since the flaps don't rip off. I also wrap each new item as a present, which adds to the fun.
my suggestion is to pack hand sanitizer and to use it often, so you dont end up sick and away from home.
Yes Cherish! The portable clorox wipes are great for sanitizing the fold down tray and arm rests.
hit the dollar store, and bring lots of candy! and try to schedule the flight during naptime, so prolong sleeping so that easton is more likely to sleep. don't check your carseat, bring it to the gate and see if there are two seats together that are available. that has worked for me almost always.
