Sort of, not totally. The ladies in my ward/neighborhood (that's still weird) are having a progressive dinner in November. I've heard that they're really fun and a great way to get to know the ladies. So I signed up. Not just to go but to have a main course at my home. I love having parties so I thought why not? I've never been to one of these so I am seeking help.
The dilema: I have to serve a main dish to feed 8-10. They will have already had appetizers and salad, and then will be going on to dessert, so it shouldn't be too hefty. Also, b/c I will be at another home until meal time, it needs to be able to sit by itself and be ready to serve about an hour before.
How I decorate is also dependant upon the dish, logically, so I need to get this figured out soon. The date is November 14th.
3 choices from my tried-and-true cookbook are:
1) white chili and cornbread
2) roasted red pepper lasagna and bread sticks
3) lentil soup and rolls
Everyone who's tried these have loved em, they're somewhat unique recipes, and easy. I am also trying to stay away from heavy meats and big allergy triggers (wheat, milk, fish), just in case.
What's your vote, or do you have a different suggestion?

I always loved your red pepper lasagne! However, the chili would be great if the weather is cold.
They all sound scrumptious to me. I'm sure it will turn out perfect whatever you decide
I would say any of the soup ideas, cuz they can stay warm while you are gone to the other houses.
mmmm whiti chili
