That would accurately describe my family this afternoon. We were itching to go on a bike ride today. We recently discovered a somewhat new bike bath just a quarter to a half mile from our house, and we were dying to try it out with the boys. As we were pulling the bikes out, hooking up the carrier, getting snacks and drinks and jackets and into position (did I mention it's now autumn in Utah? It is.) it began to sprinkle. There were some mean, ugly clouds in the distance but we convinced ourselves that it was headed in the other direction. And, we reasoned, if it did rain on us, the boys would be covered by the rain shield and we could get a bit wet. And it stopped sprinkling. We're clear!
Here's where stupid appears. Not a mile into the ride and the sprinkles return. Rain cover goes on boys. We're fine, though. Another mile. A bit more rain, but it's not cold, and not too heavy. Another mile and we see the temporary end to the trail (construction work), so we finally turn around. AAAAAHH!!! Seriously brutal! By now we're already drenched and a bit cold, but as we turn around we realize we had been riding with the wind, and rain. Going against was killer. It felt like an awful brain freeze and my hands were numb instantly. That 3 miles felt like 10. But, the boys were fine and warm, so no problem, right.
The hot shower on our return home hurt like the devil I was so cold, and after a while I couldn't tell, was the water hot, cold? My senses were going crazy. Nothing a batch of banana chocolate chip muffins couldn't fix, though.
Oh ya, and not 20 minutes after that the sun came out with a gentle breeze and it was a beautiful evening, for a bike ride. So we let Easton ride this time.

Utah officially sucks this year. That is all.
PLEASE send some of your rain to southern Uath. We are in need. You are getting to be as tough as the pioneers.
Oh no!
