Half Marathon

If I don't have a goal, it doesn't happen. So, I decided FINALLY, last minute to train for this half marathon July 17th. It's from Bryce Canyon to Cannonville, which so conveniently happens to be Dave's hometown. That meant 7 weeks to train. Ya I'm a little overzealous and stupid. I figure I hope to make it, if not, well, I'll try. So I've been doing really good. I run for an hour doing lots of hard hills and I've been able to increase my speed and distance in just 2 weeks. That feels good. I bought myself new running shoes last night because mine were so old and worn. They feel like bouncing slippers! Can't wait to run in them. But I think I have the beginnings of shin splints so I am going to lay low for the weekend. If it's warm enough bike instead. Now to extend my time to run farther and longer. That's next week. :)
Added edit: An interesting tidbit I forgot to mention earlier. When I went shoe shopping the girl helping me (ya, they're girls now, and I'm the lady. When did 30 seem so old?) sized me for the shoes. She told me that she could see my arch had fallen quite a bit, hence the increased shoe size. I suppose it's from all the extra weight I carried with 2 babies. I had always wondered why so many women's feet grow after having babies.

Can't wait to see you running down the hill. I'm hoping to be there also, just handing out water to you, not running. Your awesome!!
