Today is Dave and my 9th wedding anniversary. Wow! Really? It sure has flown by. Best decision I ever made, I'm so fortunate to have found Dave.
To celebrate (I know, I know, we're real party animals) I had this painting made for us. It's a picture of the Minnesota Temple where Dave and I were married. For various reasons we ended up not really doing anything else today except smile and kiss a lot, and stare at this of course. I guess we want number ten to really shine. ;)
Now the story of the painting, if you're interested.
This past summer I was browsing in my favorite local consignment shop when I happened upon a most beautiful and interesting original painting. It was unlike any I had before seen. Now you must know this about me-I have no religious art in my house (or art period for that matter) becuase I am very very particuler. But this, this was different. It was a glowing picture of the Salt Lake temple set in Tuscany. Brilliant-perfect-but has no significane to me.
So I turned the painting over to find a name and out of state phone number on back. I wrote them down and took a picture. When I arrived home I quickly called the number. Disconnected. Drats! I went online and googled her name and lo-and-behold! found her blog! Immediately a plea was sent to her in hopes of a commissioned painting to adorn my home. And just like my fairy godmother she granted my wish. Her husband even made the frame, her father and she delivered it to our house today and then they hung it! I felt so spoiled! I really wish I could have paid her triple what she charged me I'm so happy.

Congrats on 9 years!
wow! awesome picture. I agree with hanging pictures that mean something to you. I have two pieces in my house is all. Happy anniversary.
oh my gosh kelly - what a gem, really. So beautiful and so uniquely your own - you'll never see another like it hanging in your friends homes - perfect. Oh and the elk/deer/moose(what is it?) in the foreground is so precious b/c it's so Dave! Worth every single of the bazillion pennies I'm sure you paid.
I love the painting. Happy Anniversary by the way. Will you shoot me your address so I can send a christmas card?
Wow, 9 years! Congratulations!
