Flying Solo

If any of you have wondered if airplanes still have 'barf bags' behind the seats in planes, I checked for ya and they do. This past week I was able to fly to Minnesota to visit with my parents and brother - by myself! I missed my boys like crazy, but it was a great trip. On the descent into Minneapolis I got the opportunity to use one of those usually overlooked but all important bags. I get motion sickness anyway, but combined with getting up at 3 am and not eating appropriately and being pregnant, it was all just a bit too much. The poor couple sitting next to me, when I wasn't throwing up I was bawling. I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't fly pregnant anymore. The flight back was a little later so it wasn't quite so bad.

My mom and I shopped till we dropped. If you've never shopped in Minnesota before, I highly recommend it. They have every single store I wanted, and there's no sales tax on clothing and shoes. So when you pick up that shirt for $14.99, that's what you pay. I'm sure I bought more to compensate. I love the Mall of America. While there I was able to buy my entire maternity wardrobe. It feels so good to have clothes to wear that fit and are cute. And I didn't have to do it with Easton in tow! He thanked me for that. Here's my brother, Jeff, at work in the MOA.
The History Center in St. Paul had the Declaration of Independance on display. Here I am with it.
We visited the St. Paul Cathedral also. So beautiful. It made me want to go back to Italy! I think this was my mom's highlight of the whole trip.
This is us on the front steps of the cathedral.
Mom and I had to do the usual visit to Minnehaha Falls and walk to the MN River. I always love visiting this beautiful place.
There were a lot of guys out fishing the banks. For those of you interested, they were catching some nice sized small mouth bass. We also went to the Como Conservatory, my mom's other favorite place. Actually, I think this is her #1. Mom? The flowers are always so beautiful. If you look carefully up top there are 3 moravian stars hanging(you can only see one, though), like the one I put in my home's entry. I must have been inspired as a youth. We also redecorated her bathroom and went to serious fabulous yard sales. I came home with a huge sack full of fantastic books for Easton, that he is loving. Good thing I came with an almost empty suitcase. My mom found a really cool old mirror for $2 that she painted black and hung over her piano. It is so cool and perfect there! I must get that side of me from her ;) (Sorry, I don't have pix of any of this - end of trip brain freeze)
