Fancy Feet

It was just one of those days that wasn't right from the beginning. It started when Easton woke up at 6 am wanting his mama. I don't know what his deal is. For the past week or so even Dave won't do. It's sad, really, and can get annoying. So we got up early and started the day at 7. (8-ish is usual forus)

Things were going well so I decided to take the PUMP class at the gym and leave Easton in the daycare there. I never do that b/c either Dave's home or I take Easton with and we go on the indoor track in the stroller. So I drop him off and walk away with the screaming tears of "mamaaaaa" ringing in my ears, and begin my workout. Halfway into it I see my little man walking in in the arms of the daycare lady with the saddest, most pitiful look on his face. Oh it was sad. As soon as he saw me the floodgates opened. I hate to say it but as sad as it was I was selfishly bugged. Is this a normal 2 year old phase? I thought we were over this stuff.
The day went on. Dave's meeting in Salt Lake went long and then he was sent to work the West Jordan store today, so he didn't have time to come home as planned first. Which meant Easton and I met him there with his lunch and jacket. Which we were happy to do, btw. I'll spare you the details, but the WJ store was busy and had issues, and Easton fell asleep on the way there, so it wasn't a fun trip. Car naps don't count.
Easton promptly woke up when we returned home and was, of course, in a foul mood. So of course I followed suit. It was hard to shake. You know, once the grumps set in, it's a tough shake.
But, then, redemption for us all. I saw in an ad that Payless had their kids mock crocks on sale for $9.99, so I decided to go after dinner. It's taken me this 2 years to realize that moms shop ahead, and if you don't buy your kid's clothes and shoes pre-season you're stuck with the leftovers. So off we went.
When we arrived Easton was very excited and says "get shoes at da mall!" I swear we rarely go to the mall or even talk about it. And we weren't at the mall, just a strip mall nearby. This kid loves trying on shoes. Always has. It's very cute. He gets giddy to try them on and then walks around so carefully in them.
After he was covered I decided to look around myself. I haven't really been in nor bought payless shoes since I was prego with East-o and had to get the wide babies for my swollen sausages. Not that I have anything against 'em, though.
I was in for a lovely surprise to find oodles of super cute shoes. And the best part was that they were all so comfortable that they felt like I was wearing slippers. I ended up with too many of them. By tomorrow I'm sure I'll have buyers remorse and return most of them, but it's fun for tonight.

This is my favorite pair. I've loved Kelly green for years but can never find a place for it in my life. Welcome new shoes! I could shop or walk around the neighborhood for hours in these beauties.
Aren't these fun? I went bold and got some metallic soft gold shoes. Very fun. And as a bonus, I am a huge sucker for mary janes.

I have no use for these right now, but they're absolutely yummy. I'm envisioning them with a black and white print skirt and a red or cobalt blue summer sweater. Would someone wear that for me please?

Oh, and on top of all of that, I found those perfect itty bitty socks that I was asking about and wanting, perfect for all these shoes. They stay on and are perfectly hidden under the shoes. And just when I thought my day couldn't get any better...

Sorry you had a rotten day Kel. Isn't it funny how shopping can just somehow make you feel better. Cute shoes. Maybe I should try some of those and not just my Nike's everyday.

Cute shoes and cute boy. Do the shoes come in kid sizes. Probably not. Oh well, I won't be in Cedar or near a Payless for some time.
