My progressive dinner was last Wednesday. It was fun! Although truth be told, I think I enjoyed prepping for it more than the actual event. Here's photos of the table setting. Those of you still trying to figure out your Thanksgiving meal decor may even get inspired! I was inspired by Martha's foliage place mats and crafted my own. I used felt rather than the suggested ultrasuede. It won't wash, but they didn't even get dirty, so I can still re-use. I also made a runner out of the same felt. I used pinking shears for the edge so that I wouldn't have to do anything else to it.
After much debate and against all opinions, I made lentil soup and homemade rolls. Katie's argument for it, "they haven't tried your lentil soup, and I have." Everyone loved it and asked for the recipe. All bowls were completely empty and no crumbs left. I took that to mean they really did like it.

The little bowls above their plates had butter and parmesan cheese. Sorry the pics don't have the soup in them. It really was much prettier even with food. The table ended up being a busier looking presentation than I had planned for, but that's mostly because I squeezed 8 people at my 6-seater. Really, I don't think it looks as good in the pictures, and I should have lit the candles for the pic. But overall, I was very pleased.

You are so creative. I'm glad it went well for you.
Looks fantastic! I'm envious, of course. I couldn't find felt in the muted colors I was looking for so I compromised with something similiar. I'll post pics after Thanksgiving. Have an awesome Turkey Day.
