House jewelry
Ok, I have family fun things to share, but I am dying to gab about new house jewelry for my home, that I haven't even closed on yet. Details!Soo...my home's entry isn't big or grand, but it is decent sized with a vaulted ceiling. I have always loved this star pendant light.
Even before everyone else found out about 'em. Love it Love it. Kinda fun, contemporary, but simple and classic at the same time. Then I saw this fun light at Ikea and rethought things.
At $24.99 it's a fun and attractive alternative, don't you think? My concern: maybe too contemporary, and it's made from plastic. What if it turns yellow or something after a year? That'd stink. But, I do want this house to be a little more fresh, bright, open and flavaful than my last one. Get my vibe? Thoughts??? I'm used to having my trusty EA girls to bounce these things off of, don't leave me hangin'!

Hmmm, do you have pics or tables for the foyer area yet? I know you can't wait to sink your decorating teeth into your new place!
I love the plastic one, but your concerns are valid. The star one may be more versatile with other decorations. I'm not very good with these kind of things, that's why when I get a house guess who gets to come visit and help me decorate. None other than the lovely Kelly
The entry really isn't big enough for anything else (I think) but it'll open up to the LR which'll be semi-formal/library, but fun. Maybe my antique sofa with a new groovy fabric, my slipcovered Martha chair and small reading chair, maybe slipcovered white. (no I don't have a kid;)) and bookshelves.
I love the star pendant. I've had my eye on that for awhile, wishing I had the perfect place for it in my house. I think the star, although more expensive will last you longer in looks (what if it yellows? think of the dust that will be so visible)and in style. It's more versatile b/c it's fun and contemporary yet goes perfectly with more classic pieces, too. But go with your savvy gut and do what feels best for your home at this time. If you go with the 24.99 one you won't feel bad about replacing soon if you get bored with it.
As much as I love Ikea there stuff does not last - so if you want some thing that look good for awhile - go with the star - it is stylin and totally you!!
I think you're all right. Why would I really want the less expensive option anyway? It'll probably be a while, so I can mull it over long and hard still. I think I would like the glass version lots longer, true. And in another house wouldn't it be dazzling in a powder room, porch - or laundry??
I love the star pendant, and not to crazy about the Ikea one. Just being honest.
