Cookbook Clean-up

For forever I have talked about organizing my gazillion recipes and making them usable. Not long ago my dream came true. Not only do I really love to organize things, but I am also using the recipes now, much to my husband's delight. Here's how I did it:

I bought 3, 3-ring binders. One large (2") and 2 small (1").

The large one I got with clear pockets on the outside and found the small ones with pretty designs already on it at Target.

To make the large one pretty I bought 12"x12" scrapbooking paper, cut it down, and slipped it in.

Got page dividers, and labeled the sections.

Cut coordinating 12x12 paper into 1/4's and put on each section divider. Using my label maker I labeled it all in a jiffy.

This was time consuming part, but worth it. I went through my recipes and if they were tried and true, they went in the "cookbook." If they hadn't been tried yet, I put them into the "recipes to try" book. The third book is for menus. I haven't done a lot with it yet, but gradually I am making week menus complete with shopping lists.

Happy organizing!
